Went today to the local fishing hole here in Riverside on 2-12-10, haven’t been there in 10-15 years. Arrived there at 6:30 and was surprised to see about 30 cars in line. I thought to my self this seems like the lines at corona lake, well I guess I wasn’t the only one that knew about them stocking trout on Thursday. The lake opened at 7 and by that time there was probably another 20 cars behind me.(a lot of people for a small lake) My first 3 fish were caught before 8:30 and the other 2 were caught between 1 - 1:30. The lake was pretty much shoulder to shoulder fishing, can’t complain though since I didn’t have people crossing my line. I think I might start fishing here more often maybe during the week when its not so busy.

well this lake isn't any better during the week when they do stock. expect 50 to 60 people shoulder to shoulder in whatever cove the school of trout are in.

Try Lake Perris. Its just down the 60 freeway from there, and there is plenty of fishing room there even on weekends.

I remember going there when I was around 16-18 years old and never seeing this many people fishing here.

2-17-10 Off work today so I decided to go back and fish the local lake. Much better crowd today or lack of it. When I arrived the park gate attendant told me that they had stocked the lake yesterday and that there wasn't much people here today. When I got to the lake there were maybe 6 other fishermen there. I did my ussual bait and wait and was able to get my limit within 2 1/2 hours. I was reeling in my 3rd .5 lber when this kid came running to the guy next to me and grabbed the net, he said that they caugth a huge carp and needed the net to land him. 20 mins later they came back with this huge carp I think it weighted in at 16 pounds, he said he caught it fishing tortillas.

was that when everything was still cow fields and the internet wasn't up? things evolve, just learn how to run with the crowd or fish another well hidden spot or you could you could go ninja. no shoulder to shoulder stuff...imo
