Well my other love anyway, lol. Hit the duct yesterday evening to see if there was any movement. It's been awhile again since I have fished so I was ready to explore. Hit the first spot and the water was moving slightly. Gate was about 1/8 open. Work it for 20 minutes and nothing. Move on to spot 2 and nothing, spot 3 and nothing. Work my way back to spot 1 and the water is still the same but still nothing. Move to spot 4 (stop 5) and I am working it for my usual 20 minutes and I am about to give up and I get a soft hit. I swing and it is hooked. A decent battle ensues and it is landed. A nice plump 8 lbs. Keep working it to see if there is more but nothing. Off to spot 5 (stop 6) nothing happening. Off to the final spot 6 (stop 7) and within minutes I get hit and it is on once again. Pretty similar battle to the first one and this too gets landed. It is the same length as the first but weighs a pound less at 7 lbs.

It was good to get back out and especially to find some fish. Good to see the water flowing some too. I was not near any gates most of my trip so it was harder to judge the flow but it seemed to have gotten a little better around 11:00 as I was going home. The buoy line where I was at my last stop had a bit more bow to it. Both fish caught in the open water just looking for them. Walk, walk, walk. Cast, cast, cast.

[QUOTE=ghetto fisherman;431239]what duct where u at? just asking because I live by the hisperia duct and havent got nothing . nice fish[/QUOTE I would guess Palmdale. Theres like one gate in hesperia. Everyone seems to be hitting the Santa Fe spot. Less pressure
more fish will move up. If you want catfish there around. The Hesperia Duct is a tuff place to fish.

The female had a few shrimp in her. The male had several of these leeches/worms like I have seen some catfish eat before. They both had lots of belly fat. I usually fillet and don't get to see the belly meat but the relatives like them whole and I was able to see it now. They must be eating pretty good to support so much belly fat.

Here's a pic of the leech/worm.

Z Nice going! Man, you make it look easy. And anybody that fishes the duct KNOWS IT'S NOT!! Nice catch! ..... Man, I just do not seem to know what I am doing. I went out today, walked the whole section this time. All the way to the end of duct Mojave siphon 403.?( the last section on google maps) .The last section where it goes underground to Silverwood. Not one bite. No flow while I was there. Water level normal. It seems I was SO lucky to catch the ONE fish I did. I'll try to set the the hook just about anytime I feel anything ,just to make sure. Even when I'm pretty sure it's not a bite. I'm taking NO chances. But it's always weeds, the edge, junk, etc. Lose a lot of lures that way. There was a different feel, the time it was a fish, so I don't think I'm just missing them. But then again even in your area not too many seemed to do too well!
YOLO ..YOU ARE THE MASTER OF THE DUCT!! GREAT JOB!!!

If Castaic ever tapers off, I need to do some duct fishing.
