First time to DVL and not the last either...

Headed to DVL yesterday 2/11 for the first time for a shot at some stripers and largemouth and mabye trout.
I met up with "Fishtale" where he picked me up at a mc D's and we headed on our way. We stopped by a buddy of fishtales Tackle shop Kennys Rod&Reel in Upland.Kenny was very helpful with tips and advise and has a fine selection of gear and tackle.
We talked for a bit purchased a few items and were on our way to pick up fishtales brother charlie a cool :Cool:guy as well.
We arrived at the lake around 11:30 and were on the hollywood:EyePop: rental boat "fishfinder,trolling motor" and on our first point by 12:00. We fished a number of points and islands along with the dam and rock quarry with no luck:Sad:.
We fished a number of baits thru out the day with not even a bite:Crying: but still enjoyed the lake and beautiful weather.
We meetered alot of fish...i mean ..alot...that lake has a sh*t load of fish in it....
I really liked the lake and its possibilities and i will be back for sure to put my time in and hopefully catch one of those diamond fish in the near future...never give up..:Big Grin:...Fishbones

Man the lake looks grease flat! sorry no fish, but you got the right attitude, feel assured you'll get em next time! Theres alot of nice fish in that lake, at least you got the skunk out of the way. Each time you go your chances increase, keep that positive attitude, and post the results.

Good to see you got a chance to get out on the water. I've only been to DVL once, hunting crappie and blue gill. Beautiful place. Nice clean water. Liked the rental... ..I really enjoyed the hike out...ha ha ... It was last summer, had to be a 100 degees , carrying an ice chest and all my gear. I was ALMOST happy all I caught was 3 bluegill. I don't know if I could of handled much more wieght. ..Didn't realize how steep it was and didn't want to make two trips. ..I'll be ready for it next time. Glad you had fun.! All I've been getting is the skunk lately. But it's still great getting out there..Right? Tight lines!:Smile:
