Fished to opener in the pooring rain for a couple of hours Saturday for a few ave sized bows when in a downpoor my friend Gary got into a nice fish. Took almost 10 mins on his ultra light set up come to net. Almost took him into and under a couple of docks but gary handled the fish well.
Cheers

They planted 30k lbs for the opener but this year most fish were between 1-3 lbs with a few toads put in the mix.
That fish (11-8) was the biggest of the day.

Hey TP nice catch your buddy had with that 11+, I also heard that it was the biggest one of the day. It was the wettest opener ever i think. But a lot of fun anyway, The average fish was around 3 but alot of fish between 5 and 10 were caught. These 3 lbrs put up a heck of a fight. I fished with my buddy and nephew for easy limits on Jerkits.

Bob - They wont put that many of the monsters (15 to 20 lbs) this year. A lot of members complaint that there were fewer fish because they buy them buy the pound and not the size. But they will keep up the crazy amount they stock, about 10,000 lbs every other week for the next couple of months.

I doubt the average fish was 3lbs. We caught a few that looked like DFG stockers. The reason you pay for this membership is for the bigger fish. Yes there were alot of fish, but I can catch these size fish at appolo park and saved on membership dues. We did catch several about 3lbs but not nearly as good as years past on quality fish. Lots of fun, but I wish they would have left well enough alone. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys !! Hey CUDA WTF MAN ? Long time no hear from.. Thought you took up Needle Point or something.
T.O. , Hope they put some fun fish in this year,(emeralds and lightning).
The plants this opener were small for the most part 1/3- 3/4 were common. Thats not cool man. Dfg sized stockers dont bode well for us peeps who pay to get yanked on by gorilla types. I know the Roid Trout dont compare to the sierra wild fish but they are a hoot on 2-3 lb line.
cheers !!
