I have done a number of houseboat trips HT, the best smallmouth action by far was at Trinity Lake up North...good trout and LMB fishing as well!

I believe we booked with these guys...

If possible get the best boat that your budget will allow, that is really the best piece of advice I could give you. Good luck and have fun, see you soon I'm sure!

I have done Lake Mojave several times, always a good time, and the fishing was not bad either!

You should go to Shasta it's an awesome lake to houseboat. We caught 5 kinds of fish most days. LMB, SMB, Bluegill, Trout, and Catfish at night. Plus it an easy drive straight up the 5 from So Cal.

I have done shasta and powell and the fishing was pretty good at both, Powell though is the by far the greatest house boating lake there is in my opinion.

LAke Powell HAnds down, the best fishing, the best senery, the least croweded, and the most opertunity.
And sorry for no C/R all 23 people we had on 2 houseboats wanted fish tacos and the stripers were just not on yet. This day we probably caught over 80 smallmouth apiece several largemouth and these jailberds. Good times. If you decide to go to powell Pm me and I will set you up with when to go what to use and where to fish and my dad runs the marina so I can get you his # and you will be on your way to the best time of your life. http://www.antelopepointlakepowell.com/
