My buddy and I are planning a weekend of catfishing. With the awesome Coachella Canal channel cat report by DesertCat I thought I'd give it a try for the first time. I've never been there before, so I'm looking for some advice.
I'd like to try mainly for channel cats, but also striped bass and maybe flathead catfish if I can find some bluegill or tilapia for bait. (You're allowed to use live bait in this part of the canal, right?) So, I'd really appreciate it if someone could give us fishing spots to try out. I'm not looking for anyone's honey holes, but if you're feeling generous feel free to send a PM with your secrets :Secret: We won't tell... Oh and we're allowed to be out there overnight, right? We plan on bringing a BBQ and sleeping bags. I just want to make sure we're not going to get a rude awakening by law enforcement in the middle of the night.
