Decided to sneak in some spottie action before the storm so I put out a message and John agreed to meet me down at out usual spot. I arrived at 1400 and John was not far behind me. I will let the pictures do the talking.

It was a good afternoon of mostly quality fish.
I need to correct my new technique. I said I was using a Carolina Rig but what I am using is a Texas Rig with Camo Berkley Gulp Jerk Shad!

I think we got about 10 spotties each before the wind came up and we called it a night at 1830 or so.

Great fishing with you John, way to go getting those big boys in on the 4lb!

LOL, I forgot about that one John! Just so everyone knows what happened. I made a cast and had a knot in my line. So I cut it and was hand lining in my set up so I could re-tie and got a hook up! Tough on the finger drag!

LOL Great job out there guys. Looks like you were here for quite the while. One pic looks like super low tide and another looks super high. I need to get me some waders for NPH fishing conbat style LOL.

I've experimented with t-rigged flukes and EWG's, but my hookup rate was absolutely poor. Switched to worm hooks, solved the problem. Now the line twist, uggh even with casting reels. A screw in texas weight helped with that. I really like using Owner sledheads though. They seem to snag less and my hookup rate get rather high. Great technique though.

We got there an hour or so after low tide and fished the 3ft incoming tide. Was not a whole lot of water moving, but they were still eating. It seems they been eating well after the storms as they are all fattened up. Water is off color but not too bad.

Yeah they seem much fatter than the Hilton models I last caught time. Just waiting a bit for the water to clear up. Hmm...perhaps a jig with rattle and a ghost shrimp trailer...hmm

Nice going out there guys. All those spotties look a little chunky, even the smaller ones. Wish I could've been there, but Mondays are my busy days now. Hoping to get back out there sometime by the end of this week.

BTW.. Is this another technique we should all know about?!

Great report and some nice fishes before storm hit. I tried NPH once and my friend and I had no luck. Tried using some big hammer lures but nada. Could you pros give me some advice?

Thought about going out to NPH on Saturday but may end up working. Getting OT if I do. I have Sunday to fall back on.
