Ok boys and girls I need some help I am going out on a moo moo on the 15 for the first time. The boat is the chubasco out of islandia sport fishing San Diego. All I have is a torium 16 with 30lb spectra + 40lb mono top shot on a 7’11’’ rod staring from scratch terminal tackle ECT.

Thanks in advance

See if you can also bring a 20-25lb setup for flylining if they are shy. Don't need necessarily anything fancy, maybe just a simple Penn 500 and a 1/2 way sturdy rod. (you can rent one if need be, but I think they spool 30lb would be my guess). Flylining 40lb test works only if they are wide open for the most part and the sardines are big. If all you do is bring the 40lb rig, then I would advise fluoro for sure if you want to flyline, unless of course, once again, they are wide open.

Good luck and see you out there this weekend at the Mexican hunting grounds!!!
