With all the rain it was nice to get out and fish. A friend and I headed out to PVR and Lower O. Snow from Olancha on up covered the valley. The sun was up, it was a beautiful day. C&R a bunch of fish and enjoyed the weather. Watched this guy battle this fish for over 20 min. at PVR. Don't know who it is but I thought I would share his prize. Hopefully he will chime in and tell the story.

beautifull brown, theres lots of those in there ,they are alomost always around the stocking ramp waiting for the dfg rainbows so they can eat,if you spend youre time throwing the trout imatators you will catch one eventually, or a big peice of meat thats what the indians use,,,,,,,,,,,,T/O

Hey guys I just ran into the mystery man at the tackle shop and heard the story in person..
Awesome catch, I belive he said he caught it on 3lb line(wow).
He wasnt familiar with FNN so I pointed him in the right direction
so he could tell the story himself , hope he chimes in...

Alka seltzer huh.....hmmm...an answer like that makes me wonder if he used a live rainbow.

Nice fish....I hooked into something really big at PVR once by the plant where the water comes out. It just slowly took line and went into the rocks there and I had no chance. I have caught some nice trout in my day and I never had one take line like that one...I was using 2# and had ZERO chance to turn him around. As slow as he was going he might not of even known he was hooked.

I was fishing 20 yards up-stream from him. He was just an average Joe throwing bait. Worms, eggs, marshmellows. No live rainbows.

PVR = Pleasant Valley Reservoir

Its a lake just north of Bishop, CA - and is open year around.....and is a great winter fishery along with the Lower Owens.

Good to hear the fine fish was caught in fair-chase fashion. 3#-test would be a skillful catch.

I need to head that direction, too. I have NO EXCUSE for not going, being only two hours from PVR and even closer to the Owens.
