I was out at Perris last Thurs and Friday. My client wanted to get out there and learn how to bass fish....
He told me that he was extremely new to bass fishing. He had only gone a couple times in the past and had NEVER caught a bass.. But he told me that bass fishing was something that hes been wanting to really get into for a while so he decided to get out to Perris with me for a couple days last week so i could give him a crash coarse in deep water bassin..
So I met him at the ramp on Thursday morning and off we went..
I started by showing him the basics of deep water spooning...Within a few mintues he was holding his first bass ever!!!!:Big Grin::Big Grin:
Then I started showing him how to read the graph properly. Its important to know what you are seeing on the graph as he was quickly finding out..
After a couple hours of the spoon bite I set him up with a custom tailspin I have made for me and I showed him how to cast the baitcaster...
Within 15-20 casts he was bombing that tailspin out like a seasoned pro. "Its amazing how easy it is to cast well with quality reels", he said.
Within a very short time he was hammering the bass on my custom tailspin.:Big Grin: He then started to switch up between the spoon and tailspin and was catching bass on each technique the rest of the trip.
At around noon he decided to call it a day because his sore back was starting to wake up...
He ended the day with 16 bass for himself, not counting what i caught..
All he kept saying was how much fun he was having and he couldnt wait to get back out there the next day..
So Friday morning I met him back at the lake and off we went again..
He wanted me to let him try to apply what i taught him the day before. he just wanted me to oversee what he was doing so he could see how much he learned.. AND HE DID GREAT!!
When we got to our first spot I let him grab the rod he wanted (which was the spoon rod) and I let him just have at it ..
Within 10 mintues he was already calling for the net...:Big Grin::Big Grin:
He fished till 11:30 before he decided that he'd better not push his bad back again.. He ended with 9 bass completely on his own.
He learned everything from knot tying, to bait selection, to rod selection, casting, graph reading, boat postioning, proper hooksetting to removing the air from the air bladders of the bass.
He couldnt thank me enough for getting him started in what he says is now his new addiction...BASS FISHING!!!! :Big Grin::Big Grin::Big Grin:
He is already looking forward to his next couple trips with me to help expand his knowledge of bass fishing and different techniques..
Here are some pics of his day..

Geat job out there Bill..
Also on Friday I saw a big bass floating dead on the surface so I cruised up to it and grabbed it and this is what i found... This 7+ lb bass had a large redear stuck in its mouth.. Thats how it died... And the redear was still alive...barely.. I removed the redear and threw it back in the water. It did a couple circles before it decided that it had enough and died as well..
