Been lurking the boards for quite some time and haven't posted anything, and I finally remembered my camera this time so I said hey why not

Got to the lake just as the cars in line were finished getting in, about 6am. Picked up some crawlers at the shop and off I go.

The lake was fairly packed, but I found a perfect spot right on levitts corner. Set up and line in the water by 6:30 set up with chart powerbait on one rod and inflated half crawler on the other, weather was cold, but calm and looked promising :Big Grin:

Lots of people fishing on this side of the lake, pretty much shoulder to shoulder in the morning

Got a couple hits here and there, but nothing solid. Saw 3 small trout landed by 8am and then the wind picked up. No bites and nothing caught around me while it was windy, died down around 10am. No hits on my bait, so I thought I'd try dropshotting a powerworm. My first time trying dropshotting for trout, got 2 takes but missed both. Gotta get better at it I suppose..

Also noticed there were thousands of seagulls at the lake today

I just waited it out and decided not to move since all the fishy looking spots were packed anyhow.. come around noon my bobber flies up, but I miss the hookset, cast it back out and get another hit, finally some action I thought, but it was ended by someone telling me to move my stuff because this guy pulled up

I thought they stocked with those huge trucks, but I guess not today. Was nice to see them stocking though, albeit just one cell off the truck, but better than nothing.

After they left, the trout dispersed, and so did the bites I was getting before..

Around 1:30 I witnessed an osprey?(hawk?) snatching a nice stocker about 15ft from shore, he was flying really low, then drops the fish because he flies straight into an anglers line getting tangled up

Another angler comes by to help with some protective gloves on and free the bird of all the line

and off he goes

I was frying in the sun, no bites in sight so I called it a day around 2pm.. til next time sarl
