My wife and I had a day off together today and it has been a very long time since we fished spotties together, so after we dropped our youngest off at school we dicided to head down to NPH for some shore Spottie fishing.

We arrived down there about 1030, I let John know we were heading down and he was going to meet us.

Our first stop was at Lido Isle, one of my favorite spots. We fish one of the parks and I hooked up a nice fish that broke me off. We were there a short time before the security guard asked us to leave.

We headed down south to our usual area where we found John and fished till 1530.

Final Counts:
Bass Widow - 1 Spottie (She was not on her A-Game as it has been awhile for her)

Eddie - 7 Spotties

John - 2 Spotties that I know of before we left him

Here are some pics.

Mike,

We will get him out there! All I have to do is hold the next Boat Trip on the "Spotted Fever" to the harbor over his head and he will give in to the S.W.A.T. Adventure!!!!

It did not help that I took him out in these conditions and spooked him for a while!!!!:ROFL::ROFL:

Nice, I was gonna head out there today, decided not to.

Armed with some Zoom flukes (pearl) and 'calico cocktail' so hopefully this time out will be better !

All BW needed was just a little more time to shake off the rust... I remember watching from The "Spotted Fever" the Hesbros clan killing them from the shore not so long ago. Good times!

Steve & Mike, Eddie sent me a PM of his first surf trip a few weeks ago...
If he can handle those conditions, he could handle anything!

I have to find some time to hoop with you Eddie.

Yep Arthur, she is a little rusty, and getting used to the Carolina Rig, it was all coming back by the time we had leave. When she swang on the fish she got, I heard the wind from a few docks down.

Yes, lets make some time to do a lobby trip.....Saturday into Sunday. Before the season closes!

So that's what I look like with a pounding migraine!

I had just bent over to pick up the fish and got that pound pound pound feeling in my temple area...... still a fun day!

Thanks Eddie and Rebecca, for letting me join you two on your "day off together".

I didn't catch anything after you two left, I stuck around for 5 more minutes and decided to buy some excedrins for the drive home.

Here's my other fish from that day... all mini's...

Eddie,

I think i ran into you (or your brother) at the West Covina Turner's about a week or two ago... I think you guys should DEFINITELY try to get in on an endorsement by Berkley with all the success you've had with their product in the harbor  That way we can all leech off free Berkley products from you

No, I wasn't pissed, "just fishing" is never a bad day in my book.

Almost looks like my right eye was about to blow out from all the pressure and thumping:ROFL:

You took him out in storm swell conditions at the spot as his first SWAT mission?!?! Man Steve, do you want him to be scared of surf fishing?

Wow... Hesbros, that place is normally very calm and similar to fishing the harbor on foot. Except, there is an unusually good concentration of large halibut there. Sorry to hear your first experience there wasn't as ideal as it could be. Give it another shot once the swells die down. You'll see what it's like. If the conditions stay like this though, I may have to duck into NPH and give your spotties a visit.

Hope to fish with you sometime soon. :Big Grin:

Hmmmm, Turners in WestCo? That was probably me, since my wife is one of the store managers there. But I dont remember speaking with any FNN'rs there, and I usually always promote FNN when I talk to folks in her store......I go there and hang out during the day, and just sit and check out all the stuff.
