Hi Everyone,

Mostly I am targeting spotties and on occasion Halibut. For plastics such as Yum Craws, Zoom Flukes, and Flash Trix... Would these weighted hooks work? Which one do you think would be best??

I am not familiar with using the screwlock, but I have heard good things...

Would these hooks stand slightly more vertical? Could this hook also be used for dropshotting (w/out the lead)

Any advice on which mold to buy would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Not sure about hali's but most of the guys that I know that fish for spotties in the harbor will use a regular leadhead anywhere from 1/4-1/2 oz depending on how fast the current is. Maybe even a little heavier. If fishing outside the breakwall then 1/2-3/4 oz or even a little more.

Thanks Ricky for the response. Here is some additional info that may help.

I do use normal lead heads quite often. Mostly I'm fishing in Newport Harbor from a float tube, or walking the docks on balboa island. Lately I have had luck on the craws with owner finesse heads 1/8oz. I can't find a weedless finesse head mold but I came across these molds and thought they might make a good alternative.

They also make this larger mixed eye mold. I thought at first it may be to big for inside the bay but I am giving it a second thought...
