The wrapping is sick, but I'm not liking the camo grips too much. I don't think it really goes well with the other colors. Good job nonetheless.

Very sick looking rod. I'm a big fan of camo split grips. They make it in urban camo too that looks killer (seen some pics of calico bass guys with them). Also, the Phenix 711XH is my swimbait stick, and it works great. Perfect Hudd rod, and handles everything including a BAA very well.

Great job! Most people will try doing their first rod as a spinning rod, but you stepped it up a notch for your first rod!!!

Looks great!

On the wraps what epoxy did you use? Light or Heavy?

My first rod was a swimbait rod as well. Very nice, but I must agree with BK that a rod over the 20lb class, especially for larger fish such as swimbait bass, should have an underwrap. This prevents the guide feet from digging themselves into the blank when under a heavy load.

Hey if you want to get those pefect epoxy lines, stack up a few books to the height of your rod and use it to keep your hand steady.

For your next rod, try a spiral. You'll love it.
