So I finally had a chance to get out there and try my new tube I got for christmas. Was on the water at around 6am, cold and breezy. Got off to a bad start with the first fish being farmed and the second fish breaking me off (tried to force the fish out from underneath his dock and he won ) However, the early morning bite was pretty good. Started to slow down at around 9am and I had to work for my last 3 fish. Headed home around noon and ended up with 11 spotties and 1 sandie. Here's the fish porn.

My biggest spottie of the day. Not a hog, but definitely a fighter.

I couldn't have asked for a better day to break in the new tube. Gorgeous day, very little wind, plenty of bites, and not too crowded. My only complaint is that my legs were numb the whole time. I knew I should've worn my snowboarding socks under my waders. Til next time.

Those spotties look pretty good! I think you have inspired me to take my tube out to the salt. Too bad the closest harbor is like 1 hr away... You have the same fins as Robo Bass, haha.

When I first saw his pics I thought, "Hmmm, a lot of those fish look the same!" I'll always be the first one to call him out so I checked the time the pics were taken. But of course, they were all legit... I should've known.

Great job on your first trip out with your new tube! I'm glad you had a good time and the fish were biting. I woulda loved to see you in your new waders. :Envious: But I knew you'd do well... you always do! I'm sure you'll catch a piggie next time... unless I catch it first.

Jaysun, it was cool meeting somebody from the boards out there, right after we saw you we moved to some moorings farther down where we caught most of the spotties, then we fished some of the private docks for a few more. Anyway congratulations on the new float tube and hope to see you again out there sometime. Also I see we have similar tastes in big hammer lures, do you find that using that color of big hammer with a yellow lead head is better than using just a plain leadhead?

look into getting a pair of neoprene waders for the winter. It will extend your time in the water, they are a lot warmer...About 80 bucks should suffice.

Great job on those spotties. Glad you had a great time in your new tube.

Thanks. It was relaxing being out there and floating around.

Yeah, you should try some harbor fishing. You'll be hooked! Those fins were just temporary. Didn't realize I needed a boot for the fins that came with the tube.

I knew you were gonna kill it out there on your tube!!
Good job Jason

LOL I wish I could have killed it tonight too, but it's difficult when your fishing next to Eddie, The Spottie Whisperer.

I don't always do well. Just take tonight for example.

Yes I do remember that, however I don't remember the heart around my face. LOL I would've never gotten a tube if it weren't for that first trip. We'll hit the harbor up sometime.

Nice Bass.

thomas (bergie berg)

I prefer to have a colored head instead of a plain ol leadhead. I think the chartreuse/yellow head makes the lure stand out a little more. Hope to see you out there again soon.

Thanks. Hope to see you out there too.

WTG Jason! Looks like a good day fishing, you are going to be the next NPH pro, next to Tess of course......hmmmm do I gotta get a tube now?

LOL no you don't need a tube! You proved that tonight by catching just as many spotties in half the amount of time as it took me.

I've had neoprene waders before and they just get too hot, especially in warmer weather. I think all I need is a pair of long johns or sweats underneath my breathables. All I was wearing was board shorts.

Thanks. Pound for pound spotties are feisty little bastards.

Very nice post and pics. It was injoyed.

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Hoping to get another trip in soon.

Thanks. I thought I would warm up from kicking around, but I didn't realize how cold the water was going to be. If it weren't for the nice weather that day, I would have turned into a popsicle.

Trust me... You don't want to use the fins that you need to wear a boot with. Just ask Robo Bass. He had those until he got the ones that you were wearing.

Nice report Jaysuuun.
The more I read about tubing and yaking, the more I want to try it out. First I need to get a little better from the surf though..
Thanks again,
