I will be on the big island (Kona) Hawaii the second half of June and want to do both surf/reef fishing and a couple days of charter. Any advice and information would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,FISHNCHIPS

I fished Kona once and although we got skunked it was still a great experience being out there. Knowing you could have a 500lb+ fish slam your bait at any moment, while fishing the dark blue waters of the island was awesome. I can't seem to find the charter service we used online, so maybe they closed shop?

This link should help you get started finding some good information on charters:

and heres one for surf fishing:

This site is kinda cool, you may find the fish calendar useful...have fun and good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply Troutdog. I am going to be anticipating this trip for awhile and will be learning all I can.
The few fish I caught off Kauai really surprised me in how hard they fought and the quality. Just want to get that Mahi and some fish in the surf for dinner.
