Well went to DVL on stocking day to see what its all about. The truck came at about 10:30 with a load of mt. lassen trout. It took about 45 min. for them to start bitting, there was a little striper action going on but not much bitting I only seen one caught around 15 lbs. it was nice metting the kid that got it. so I put my swim bait rod down and went to work on the trout with my buddy Shon, We were throwing jigs and trout worms and slaying them, as the day went on the bite got better around 3:00 it was as good as it gets. To bad they kick you out at 4. we both ended up with somewhere between 20 to 30 fish all released. Shon got one that was around 5lb but caught a little more than me and I ended up with 2 solid 6lbs. and lost a 6lb at shore. the biggest one I seen swimin around was around 8 lb and average was 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. It was my first time fishin the stock at DVL and it wont be my last.

To Chad- Really nice report and good job on the stockers. The best part of your report was that you released all of the trout! If more people practiced the way you fish, there would be an unbelievable holdover population at the Jewel. When you catch your first 6 lb. holdover, you won't believe the way they fight. You'll then realize what kind of fishery DVL really is. Thanks again for the C&R..........
