got to the lake about 8:00 am with the cormarant kid, headed for the front lake for the schoolies that put a show on for the anglers that try to catch them. the bite was slow till bout 9:30 the kid got a major bendo hit on his bait pole and reeled in the big 16incher..i to hooked up on what i think is a brownie with a brook snout? hooked up with 2 more dinx from the school and released them..10:00 rolls around and the stock truck comes rolling around the corner, so we fished the front for 2 more hours to wait for the back is open for fishing..man was it worth the wait..headed to the back with the kid and every cast was instant trout magnet, to top it off it was only a handfull of anglers there i counted about 15. only the better sized ones were kept. caught alot and relesed alot i lost count after 20 and that was before 1:30..with a wide open bite like that why even keep count..all were caught on powerbait worms from red,pink,white and chartruse: except the 16incher that was on powerbait sping green..the kids rod

BGH that trout is a male in spawn colors. Hookjaw, deep, dark color, big spots. All to look good for the ladies.

Went there today for about 3 hrs. and they were still hitting on power worms. Also caught em on pink and yellow power eggs. Back lake was packed but my favorite spot was wide open :LOL:, the cormarants pushed the schoolies right in front of me. Some of the trout were tiny like anchovies, couldnt really feel them even on my ultralight. Good times- Didnt see you there B*G*H.....

caught 1 front lake and 3 in the back, farmed a few short hits..meet up with jmp and he did real good out there..i guess the fish crack and power bait guys bait and slayed..sam i would head out to yucaipa instead for the derby bite..

slow day overall all in all tho. i ended up catching a total of about 14 on the jig
the whole dayy. too bad theyre dinks :Evil: hahah
