Red Drum

I took some surf fishermen out on the big pond to do some fishing and buggin', Jason "jscrib", Glenn "fishbum" and Sherm "bajapaddyhopper" aboard the "Big Drum".
Conditions were perfect all day long, almost no wind and 75 degrees, and we were able to get some fish and bugs to boot. Plus excellent company and good food, couldn't ask for much more.

One of our goals today was to get some trigger fish. Here I am with the first and biggest of the day.

Critter fishing was slow but we did manage to catch a lot of fish.

Sunset and still calm.

Then all of a sudden the winds starting blowing out of the canyons.

Then we threw plastics for some bass. Slow but we got a few.
Jason and I with some nice hard pulling sand bass. Glen checking in.

Final count for the day. We tried to get to 100 fish but came up a little shy. Still an epic catching day with lots of species.
Jason diligently kept tally of all the fish we caught on a paper plate and this is what we got:
Bass - 34
Perch - 21
Sculpin - 10
Sheephead - 9
Rock Fish - 7
Triggers - 4
Macs - 3
Sargo - 1
Senorita - 1
90 fish plus 10 lobsters. Not too bad.
Had another fantastic time on the water and can't wait to do it again.
HOOK-UP!!
Till next tide,
