I haven't fished in what seems like forever with work and the holidays. So when i woke this morning to beautiful weather I had to lauch the kayak out back in NPH. Launched at 8:00 am and off the water at 11:00 am. Tide was crazy high this morning. Lot of debris in the water from the incoming current. The bite was pretty steady for 3 hours. Landed alot of fish and missed even more.

Ended up with a mixed bag of spotties, sandies, and small hali's. Nothing of any real size but the bite ws steady so it was fun. Caught all fish dropshotting Zoom Super Flukes of various colors. Chartruese seemed to be the most effective color for me today. Here are the pics.. And as usual all fish were released..

Nice pics! Look at all of their well designed paddling devices that those Spotties and Sandie have! There for a great battle every time even from the little thumb suckers!

Best of luck in the New Year!

Pretty good trip to Flyngby's playground. Jerry G., one of my S.W.A.T. Captains is going to be my coach in doing some kayak fishing this year... can't wait. Thanks for the report and good luck on your first surf fishing mission, whenever that will be.

Nice catch. I was out there too but only stayed on the public dock off of Opal. Caught two sand basses and a bat ray. I had two lines, one spinning set for bait and wait and a baitcaster with a Big Hammer. Noticed a splash off of left side and tossed my BH and wham! A 15" sand bass hammers my line. Never had a fish hit my line that hard before. I fished from 7:30-1pm.

The surf was really high today. From the water level gauge on the dock it showed 7.5' at the highest. Lots of debris during the outgoing tide.
