Went with a few friends as we finally found a day that matched up with everyones schedule. Saw that the swells were going to be a little nasty and the wind wasn't going to help so we went outside the wall to see what we would be dealing with and decided it would be the smart thing to go inside the wall for a bit. Headed inside and found a decent bite. Nothing real big, but fun fishing anyways.

After making several moves inside and coming up with nothing, we decided to go out and make a last ditch effort around the platform. The weather finally cooperated and with our trolling motor dead, we were able to find a fun drift that produced some sandies and a calico here and there. The biggest fish of the day went a 3 1/2. Again nothing huge but enough action to be a fun day.

One thing did lead to some excitement and joking. One of our buddies hooked into something real big. Fought a lot like a halibut with the headshakes. One quick run drug him and rod trip right under the boat and snap! Would have loved to have seen it but it definitely got the boat excited.
Other side note. My wife surprised me with a Toro 50 for christmas. That thing is sweet! Spooled with with daiwa samurai and it was on. Love it!
