Does any one know if there is a season for jack mackerel, I'm itching to catch some and does any one have any information as to local bites on them?

I don't think there is a season. They just comes in when the Pac Macks comes in. From what I've seen most of them are small 6-8" and under.

Aji. That's the Japanese name for them. And yes they are good to eat.
I haven't seen a pattern as far as season.

My "spot" generates them every once in a while, but with no consistency.
And I seem to catch them later in the day, more evening times.

Maybe it's time for a Aji trip....hmmmm.....Aji....

Yup aji. Cut up the fillets sashimi style and mince green onion and put in Ponzu sauce and some rice. Mmmmmmmmmmmm [droool]
