After being defeated by this I.E. lake on our last visit, we knew we couldn't let this defeat go untouched, so today we decided to pay another visit to the lake and even the score with "El Skunko of Rancho".

We roll into the driveway at about 7am only to find a line of vehicles waiting to enter. Not a good sign. We drive to the back parking lot to see that the lake's wide open. Sweet. We park, quickly grab our gear and claim a section of shoreline.

"The youngest member of Team Trucha (my niece) decided to brave the cold and help us defeat the skunk"http://i437.photobucket.com/albums/qq100/flyfishingfool/DSC00934.jpg

My bro-n-law keeps feeling hits in this one spot of the lake and then I finally one sticks. FISH ON!!!

"He starts to work the area more thoroughly, and hooks into a second catch"

It took us around an hour to defeat "El Skunko of Rancho" After my bro-n-law had that section of the lake locked in, my brother, niece and I decided to try another section of the lake to increase the odds.

"As I'm giving so pointers to my niece on how to reel in her lure, I hook into this nice stocker"

"After that last catch the bite slowed down so we went to try our luck on the back lake."

We fished the back lake for about an hour before getting tired of hearing those damn roosters and chickens on the other side of the fence, and headed back to the main lake for one last run.

We all decided to call it a day after that last catch and take home a victory win for Team Trucha.

(All trout were caught on SuperDupers(gold) and KastMasters (green/silver and blue/silver)

lol.

The fly hasn't been working for me with the stockers lately, so I had to dust off the old spinner and lures.

Thanks.

I agree with your opinion. I used to use them back in the day in the E.Sierras and those kastmasters would rarely yet me down. It's great to see that they also work in the city ponds and lakes.
