how do you figure its worthless? i only use 1000's or if i need to use heavier line i use a bait caster. i rarely use over 6lb line. even hali fishing or on a boat bass fishing in the ocean.

Well you've obviously not used a 1000 sized reel on a ML for shallow water dropshotting and shakeyheads.
