The missing codec error can be fixed by downloading and installing DivX-7. It should allow you to watch just about any file format movies on Windows Media Player and its free.

You can get it directly from their web site, http://www.divx.com/en/software/windows/divx

Or from cnet download,

Download VLC. VLC is THE BEST media program out there and will play any format. It is the only thing I use. It is far superior to Windows Media Player!

I agree. VLC is the best one out on the market and it's free. I haven't come across any type of media file where it can't play it.
