A few weeks ago i bought a minn kota 30 lbs thrust lbs trolling motor to put onto rental boats. I used the motor, but it just didnt get me fast enough, it was perfect for thomas boyant trolling, but too slow for rapalas. Well long story short I returned the motor and bought the 50 lbs thrust, guess what!! 50% off !!(plus i had a 15% of coupon) The minn Kota 50 lbs thrust is on clearance go get em!!

That's a KILLER deal. Good heads up.
For reference on a totally different price category, the most powerful hand carry trolling motor is the Torqueedo 801. With battery, it's 27 lbs total, and thrust equal to over 100 lbs in the Minn Kota range. That thing KICKS! But it is very very expensive at $1700.:EyePop:
