i am looking for my xmas present and want a linecounter reel for striper fishing. was wondering what you guys are using? would like one for trollinng heavy line and one for bait and wait. looked at okuma, and the price is good for me, dont have hundreds to spend.
matching rods for reels if you know of any would help too. going to go to willow beach in april and want something that can handle the big boys.

Abu Garcia 6500LC
Nice compact around $90 on sale but not the most reliable.
Dawia ADP27LC cheep, reliable, primitive!
I run them with 25LB Izor line. Minny snags no lost equipment!

My first line counter reel was the Daiwa Sealine SG27LCA. Nice reel, very reliable. Cost is about $95.00. If there is anyway you can, spend the extra money for the Shimano Tekota. These are the the only reels I use for trolling and IMHO there is no line counter reel on the market that can compare.
