View Full Version : Taking some kids out Local Rockfishing, nice fish

A good friend of mine asked me if I could help put his kids on fish and some of their friends as well. So I said sure. We had 3 dads, and 4 kids total. so i went to an old rockfish spot in long beach about 315 in depth and the fish bit well. We only ended up with a few fish, as the kids were starting to get see sick after 25 min of fishing. But the fish were quality. Got one nice ling. Released. took hour boat ride, fished for 25 min, and went home. I never seen a group of kids so happy and excited to fish.



The pictures of the kids fishing with their dads are all priceless. Needless to say they all had a great time and now all the kids are addicted to fishing. Using Shimanos Tallicas in two speed sure made it really easy for the kids to wind up.

another day....a few days before sunday. nice to know long beach still holds quality rock fish locally.

damn those are huge! why dont i get these on the 3/4 and full day charters? i think you should run your own, ill be your first customer. :Wink:

Nice Job with the kids. Try Fish Harbor on Terminal Island for a 'Seal Cruise'. The Dogs are taking over a couple docks there.

Man! Those are quality fish. The best part is the kids had fun. They get bored fast when nothing is biting. They sure looked busy on this trip.

Kids were great! All of them hootin and hollerin at every fish...it was awesome....I sure did have some good times i 2009 sharing the rail with some of you......

Just wondering, did you ever sell your Marlin? Saw it on BD, man if you still had it this summer I would be very interested!
