I had a 13' Valco I took in the ocean and pounded some waves with it.
After a few trips that thing leaked ALOT !
The water would get 3" deep in about 20 min. NEVER AGAIN.
Rivited boats suck unless you are going to putt around on a lake.
Go Welded. Not Rivited.
Better yet, go fiberglass unless you are going to car top haul it and want light.

x2! I have a 13' Gregor that's welded and it feels awesome not stepping in a 13' long 3" puddle when standing up! lol Fiberglass is quieter and smoother than a tin can, but it is fragile and heavy..... Porta Bote anyone???

Porta Bote anyone???
I like Porta Botes. Have a 8' non transom one.
Took it hooping once and worked good with oars.
Check this Porto Bote video the Bass are jumping in the boat.

Watch Craigslist.org I think mine is a Foldboat. Avoid key words and use the $100 to $600 range to find one.
Use folding for a keyword.
Here's one.
