Went to Castaic with friend. We were fishing on the dam. Pretty slow overall. We had about 5-6 bites on sardines. I had one hit on swimmies early morning.
So, anyway, we got 3 stripers total: 1.5 , 5 and 8 pounders , all on drifting cut sardines.

Still you have a weight, but your bait is not on the bottom. I use small sinker with 3 foot lead. And every cast let the bait slow sink.
