(I know another late report....out of town for the weekend and the flu had LilTD and I on the ropes at the start of the week so better late than never right!?)
With the day after Turkey Day off work and promising reports from TonyCatchthatTrout, Daryl and Rooster posting that killer stocking video my sights were dead set on Corona "Home of the Super Fish!"...for many it lived up to just that!
Got to the lake around 2:30am and lots of people had the same idea that I did apparently, I parked in the 2nd line about 1/2 way back and settled in for a few hours of sleep.....I could not believe what I saw when I woke up!

ok, ok...this was actually Big Bear in front of Doctorhook's place over the weekend
Just shy of 6am the cars were let in the gate for a day of slaying, I had a really good feeling and my intuition seems to be pretty dailed in as of late! A little undecided about exactly which spot I was going to fish as my options were somewhat limited due to the people already there, but I grabbed a spot that turned out to be perfect....just like the early morning sunrise we were treated to!

This is a big part of the reason I go fishing.....
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/CoronaNov2709004.jpg
My usual glow in the dark nitro worm combo got no love in the early morning hours, nor did the crawler n egg combo so I went to the old reliable garlic n white mixed pb and shortly afterwards the skunk had vacated the premises as I landed a chunky Corona bow...not long thereafter that fish had some company on my stringer! Garlic and white mix does it again in the early hours....here is the tip of the day imo when fishing Corona, fish SHORT leaders no more than 18'' is the ticket or atleast it was for us.
The boat and tube traffic did not seem to deter the bite whatsoever....

I was joined on my left by two young anglers and their Dad, the older of the two a fellow FNN member "St3wie", nice meeting you....you guys killed it!!! Things started off a little slow from that point and then the bite got crazy as pigs started biting left and right....left and right of me anyways!
Piggy #1...wtg guys!!!!

Piggy #2
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/CoronaNov2709018.jpg
Piggy #3 went to the market after the line broke, but 2 for 3 on big fish is very impressive...again congrats to Team St3wie!
It was funny how the day wore on fellow Team57 members started popping up at the woodwork....I was pretty sure I saw Webfoot launching but wasn't sure so I didn't yell his name figuring I would see him on the way out and would hit up for some intel  About 45 minutes go by and Greg Madrigal aka Capt Madgi(dude you need to make that your FNN screen name!), gives me a ring and says he is on the lake with MIA fishing fiend Beeracuda and his better half. I later talked to 2Quick and he tells me Big Daddy is also at Corona....at the end of the day I see Poxy and Daryl with their haul!
Okay back to fishing....the bite was a consistent pick throughout the day and hands down garlic pb, spring green etc were top producers for those fishing adjacent to me. Saw a few fish caught on plastics, I managed one on the "X-mas" special aka red powerworm and green egg....that combo of course ONLY works in December though!
Thought it was a nice touch to have a staff member walking the shore taking pictures and info....nice meeting you Greg (not Craig right? :Embarrassed:)

After talking shop for a bit, Greg snapped a pic that I grabbed off the Corona site, thank you! ( Check out this link, if you have been following FNN reports lately you are bound to see some familiar faces http://www.fishinglakes.com/corona_photos.htm )

One of the highlights of the day had to be seeing Greg Madrigal coming in for the day....AWESOME fishing outfit brotha, time to make Team57 scarves Dana because GM is in for sure!

Capt Madgi and Webby with their bounty for the day....WTG guys!
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/CoronaNov2709025.jpg
Not to be outdone PoxyBoggards crushed it out on his float tube!
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/CoronaNov2709028.jpg
A quick pic at home before the fillet knife got bloody...
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/Coronacatch008.jpg
Finished the day with a limit of trout and although the DD trout eluded me, I will be back at Corona to get my revenge! If you are looking for a good shot at a big fish, check out Corona.
Side note: I was VERY impressed with the fact that Corona ordered more fish to be stocked as a result of the large turnout...I don't recall the exact time, but sometime before noon the Jess Ranch crew dumped a full load of Ruby Reds to keep the bite going strong. Hats off to Corona as they have obviously stepped up their game and are commited to winning "Trout Wars!"
If you made it this far....thanks for reading!
