How affective is dropshoting and what do you use for bait. I heard power worms is good.. New to this type of fishing, I like to jig fish with 2lb test , but want to try something different.. Would like to read all responses and educate myself .. thanks fellow fishermen for all your input...

I use Lip Ripperz trout worms and they are great for the dropshot rig! I use 3lb pline and a 2-3 foot leader. Hope this helped!!! Oh yeah try it wacky style!

i als agree, power nymphs and power wormes always do the trick for me as well as little trout tubes with a power worm trailer is a killer. The ticket is to bounce it really slow drag it twitch it as slow as can be and the rest issss fun!....go get em

I do both jigs and powerworms. Prefer to jig but really depends on the water your fishing. Drop shot is killer with the powerworms pink and orange. Funny I was the other way 1st drop shot then went to jigs. the best is get 1/16 with weight and jig combo. some crappie jig bodies from bass pro then trail with a powerworm for action! KILLER. You have way more choices if you do it this way then buying them already done.

Set Up the drop shot like you do for Bass? I was gonna try 3/16 bullet with a red pearl bead between it an the worm, Berkley 3 '' [orange peel] on a small crappie [gold] hook set up weedless?...

1/16oz weight, and no need for the bead. Otherwise just like for bass, but don't rig it weedless. I like Gamakatsu egg hooks and size 10 or 8 owner mosquitos, but I am sure others will chime in with their choices.
