OFG gets her Ling

Hopped on the Aloha Spirit along with a couple of the GCLA ladies and a few other friends. Went to Rosa actually about 15 miles beyond Rosa for some big ol reds....Got the limit on those for the boat when Capt Shawn says, we're going for some lings.....The ride will be around 30 more minutes further out, so out we go...I didn't get pics of the reds, you guys have seen those big ones before, but here are the pics of the Lings we got....BTW boat got limits in 20 minutes and yes thats what I mean 20 minutes....

These were all caught on Tadys......Used a 12oz green.....I'm telling you as soon as you hit the bottom (360ft) it was instant fish on. I used my Saltist 50 with 40lb test. You wouldn't have wanted to use anything lighter. I didn't get the biggest one, but certanily have no complaints. I'm weak, just couldn't hold both up at the same time. Most weighed between 15-20lbs each. 20 minutes ling fishing, then a long ride home. I believe we were out 60 miles. Cpt Shawn spent the fuel but we were able to end the Ling season on a very high note. Limits all around for all the species. I am so happy to finally have some quality Lings for the year. Wow, Havnt seen quality and quantity like that in awhile. Thats a trip to remember, Well done>> Northern Ca guys would even be jelouse of a catch like that. A few years back La Jolla was red hot with legal lings, limit style fishing but more like 5-8lbers... Those GPS #'s are worth some$$$$$ Again, Great job on an EPIC trip!!!
