Irvine Lake 11-28-09 Thanksgiving Weekend with Limits!!!

Well, went out to the lake for the third time this Trout Season, looking for our limits. My Dad and I decided to take my good friend Zach with us. Zach wanted to see how "Team Johnsfishing" works, so we showed him.

Water Temp. Plus/Minus 60 degrees
Air Temp. Plus/Minus 60 degrees warming to maybe 70 degrees.

We started out Trolling. We made a pass all the way down the West Shore and across the dam and back. After making a few more passes and switching up our lure selection, we decided to switch game plans! Trolling was NOT the ticket on Saturday, 0 fish to show from us on the Troll for 2 hrs.

We scoped out a spot on the shoreline and set up shop. There have only been a few occasions at Irvine Lake since My Dad and I started fishing in 2006 that we have shore fished. We found a nice beachy shoreline and beached the boat to finish (start) off our day and start catching some fish!

Our first fish was landed around 9am with all of us going bendo throughout the day!

Funny Story: While I was reeling in a fish, I took a step backward to help get the fish closer to Zach's net but I stepped onto some really soft sand! I went straight down keeping full tension on the line and we landed that fish successfully!

Around noon the "storm" tried to move in. It became cloudy over the lake and dropped a few "drops" on us which only enticed the fish that much more! Here is Zach and I in action!

We each LIMITED OUT! In total, we had a handfull of farmed fish, a couple missed hits, and 3 Full Limits! We left happy!

We had an awesome day out there! Zach said to me today, "thanks for taking me fishing, I cant stop thanking you for that experience."
