View Full Version : Official new Irvine record sturgeon

All,
Just wanted to formalize the fact that Ronson Smothers' big 49.6 pound sturgeon from the final weekend of catfish season is now officially recognized as a new Irvine Lake record.
Because of the timing when he caught the fish, I wanted to wait a couple of weeks to publicize it.
That way Ronson gets all of the props he deserves without getting overshadowed by the trout opener.

Hey, where there some fatties a ways back that muskyman caught or weighed for people too? I remember when i first joined here a few years ago, reading about his big sturgeon catches..50-70lbrs, but not sure if that was recorded or not-Just shoot'n that out, since i know the Vine has the BIG Kitties, Sturgie's,... fish in general! :Wink:

Not sure on the bigger sturgeon being caught. I don't think a record was considered until I brought it up. Did some research on there records page and there was nothing.
Working on another record in SD before the year is up. Meeeouuutt!
