I'll be fishing the duct up north soon. My carry-on airplane rod is only 6lb test. Are there any lures that would that be productive to throw with this set up? The KPN skinny shad would be great if I had at least 10lb test.

Sam's got the right idea. A 3" Big Hammer swimmie would be nice as well.

Most important thing is to keep your drag loose and hope that it wears out.

Sounds great. The last time I was there the fish were 1-3lbs; so I think the rigs the you guys mentioned will work out pretty well. I'll prob pick up some tackle at walmart this afternoon.

yup, just picked up a black n chrome 1/4oz rat-l-trap and 3'' gulp shad flukes. I gotta swing by a tackle shop or two to see who has scrounger jig heads.

Here's what I ended up with. And I opted to bring both 8lb and 6lb carry on rods for my GF and I. I'll prob throw the jerkbaits/swimbaits on 8lb and dropshot the flukes/gulp worms on 6lb.
