Robert called me and told me that he wanted to come out to Perris with me and he wanted to bring his 5 year old son Joe. He told me that Joe loves to bass fish so there wouldnt be a problem with him lasting all day on the boat. He also told me that he wanted the day to be all about young Joe. So I told him "No Problem" Id have Joe up front with me and Id help him out all day. Robert said, that was great and hed just sit in the back of the boat and fish and watch his young son learn and experience a great day on the water.. :Big Grin:
So we met at the lake on Monday and away we went...
We fished shallow in the morning for a few minutes with cranks and caught a couple bass then we headed out to deep water and thats when all hell broke loose!!!!
The bite was awesome....
We fished in 25-40 ft of water for a magority of the day and caught over 30 bass to 4 1/2 lbs...on reaction baits and dropshot...
5 year old Joe hung in there like a trooper and caught bass after bass on his own...with the exception of needing me to fire out long casts for him.
He fought the bass like a seasoned vet and set the hook like a pro.
The only thing he didnt do was hold the bass after the first one bit him he said...hahahahahah:LOL:

Here are some pics of their day..

This is moments before this mean Perris bass bit young Joe...hahahaha

Frick! Your always out there and killing it, I'm jealous!

Hopefully the closure don't affect your business too much.

Speaking of the closures, you think that helps the bite out with a little less pressure or doesn't even matter.

At all.. Perris is only closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and besides I also guide on Castaic ,Vail, Puddingstone and Silverwood..
Ive just been doing alot of trips to Perris because its less of a drive then other lakes and the bite has been great.

I think the closures will help the bite even more though...I dont have a problem with it...

Hey Pete;

I know for you it is buisness mixed in with pleasure doing what you love to do. Your Guideservice seems to be doing quite well even though I understand you have a regular day job.

The point im trying to make is that regardless of guiding or not its evident that you are completly enjoying helping anglers become better at their skills and seeing the shots of you with young Joe bent is priceless. Im happy to see people like you and Joes dad Robert get out there and get our kids involved in fishing and conservation. Im taking my son out Saturday and hopefully looking forward to the same!

Good job Pete keep up the good work. Maybe you should change the name to 'Pete Marino good service'.

Later; Big Ed!

I appreciate the kind words.

I have always loved to show people how to fish ..both kids and adults.
I find it very rewarding and I get just as fired up to see people in my boat catch fish as I do when I catch them. Its flat out cool!! Especially if that person if having fun...
