what kind of set-up do you use for targeting sharks and SNGF from shore? I'm looking to by a rig, but don't want to break the bank in doing so.

Appreciate any insight.

and, oh, I don't bait cast... yet

Get yourself a Shimano Baitrunner 4500 or an Okuma Coranado 50. Match it up with any cheapy spinning rod.

I use a cheapy Shimano Rod paired up with my Coranado 50. Great all around salt combo. Caught a really nice SNGF kayak fishing in LB a couple of months ago.

Yeah a 4000 series real is enough , i use #20 crystal fireline with mine
to get a bit more distance , 2 or 3oz pyramid sinker and cut squid.
Just use one hook as double hookups are hard to get in if the tide is running.
SNGF , 'hounds and leo's are great fun to catch
