Does that mean your SHORE fishing and need to know how to find ledges and other contours of the lake????

If that is the case.

Most lakes have contour maps available at Marina..
If that isnt an option, you can look at the land formations leading up to the water.. A hill/ridge will normally continue out into the water, Same with depressions (shallow valleys)..
Rocky, sandy, smooth, lots of heavy brush/trees....
You then have a small idea of what is under water.
Point (slopping ridge) with drop offs on each side or ????
Steep grade?? Not Steep?? very slow grade??
Large rocky terrain, shale ledges, sandy ????
Structure and ambush spots???

Good spots for Bass...

Ledges, cliffs (drop offs) are harder to find from shore.. May need to use a fish finder (sonar) and map it yourself...

Bag em & tag em... (CPR)..... Good luck...
