The focus of today’s “MISSION” was a more relaxed atmosphere. “Wingnut & Bones have been on some treacherous, adventurous and exhausting trips in the past 4 weeks so I offered them a ride on the “SPOTTED FEVER” in NPH since the Surf Forecast did not look good for Sunday.:No Pity:

Arthur arrived at my long driveway at 0430 and we were on our way to meet Mike at the ramp at 0600 sharp. Boat was promptly put in the water and Arthur and Mike immediately went to work on ramp docks while I warmed up the boat.
Arthur was quick to break the skunk with a nice Spot.

I kicked myself for leaving the “Hot Bite” in the ramp area to quickly on Friday so we worked the vicinity before venturing out into the vast harbor.

A little nicer model.

Conditions were stained, no current and lack of Bait Fish in the area so we made a move looking for better conditions. As we moved down the channel Arthur and Mike were getting reacquainted to finesse fishing as they missed several opportunities but also managed to boat a handful of 8” Sandies and Spotties.

I got on the board quietly with a Spottie.

The boyz added another handful of Sandie and Spotties.

We made a pit stop and then headed out to the Jetty area to see if conditions were better and in search of a Legal Flatties. We slowly meandered out to the opening of the harbor.
I guess yesterdays battle with a large FLATBOY got the best of Arthur!!!!!:ROFL:
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG0157-1.jpg
We went around the corner to the south and worked the outside of the jetty in toward Corona Del Mar swim beach. Conditions were beautiful with calm clear water to 20 plus feet. Worked the Jetty wall and swim beach buoy line for only 1 solid missed hit!

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/Arthur015-12.jpg
We made a long move back into the far inner area of the harbor to set up for our final moves of the afternoon. Again conditions were not the greatest and were experimenting with different baits to try to get them to chew.

Despite the lack of current and the lack of bait we still managed a day in the harbor that most guys would be proud of for sure Steve. It was really nice to just relax for once and shoot the sheet with my SWAT team members. I have been sooooooo beat down by the lack of sleep and fishing for the last 6 days....LOL
I really needed this past sunday to just heal my aching feet, knees and back. Damn.....All of the adventures are starting to stack up on my soul. Thanks once again for the guide trip in your favorite place to fish dude.
It was a pleasure for sure....Now let's pound some sand....hop some rocks.....get rocked by waves and find the BIG GIRLS!!!

Wow, you've a lot of spots in NPH. I tend to stick to the same general areas that I am most comfortable, but i will definitely try a few new areas next time.

Nice job out there guys.

Just what the doctor ordered! A nice relaxing therapeutic session at NPH. Man, did we welcome the change of pace or what... I know that I needed that. That was fun & exciting... especially when we hopped outside the breakwater. Did you notice that Mike was acting a little nervous when we were fighting the swells to get out there? The legal Flat Boys of NPH eluded us again, but we'll be back!

Steve, thanks again for hosting us in your playground... that was a S.W.A.T. assault of a different kind. Now back to chasing the big Butts in our usual battlefield. Talk to you soon my friend.

Operation Relaxtion looks like a big success. There is a certain appeal to not getting smashed by the ever present rogue swel, falling down a steep trail, or slipping on the algae covered rocks. It looks like some of those spots can be hit from shore too. Gotta make a trip back there one day. Can't wait to see what you guys have planned for next trip!

Wow, I feel left out......no invite? I guess once you have joined the S.W.A.T. you do become elite.....you could have invited me to at least throw buckets of water on you guys while you fished to keep the surf feeling going.....Looks like you guys had a great day. I called you Sunday to go fish but Leslie told me you were out fishing, now I know where! OK Arthur and Bones, I need Steve back on the H.O.L.T. (Hesbros Ocean Lobster Team).......Ha Ha, not as catchy is it?

Well good job out there boys, after reading your surf reports that boat fishing just makes it look too easy on you guys!

Arthur, let me know when you are ready for an all nighter pulling hoops for bugs!

It is nice to have other options when mother naturs deals a bad hand for the plan!!!! I apologize for testing you when I went around the outside corner but you were the one who said we needed to get to Corona Del Mar! I guess we were on a different page at the time!!!!!

Sometime you have to get out of the comfort zone and search for the bite or you will have a :Skunk: "Y" day!!!!!!

Glad you were able to have a relaxing day!! The outside was looking very fishy and I was just trying to expand our horizons in the area from the usual spots. Although it did not play out then it might in the future!!!!

Had Mike not been on the boat, we would have nothing to worry about and no need for any warnings!!!!

Marc,

The plan was to gice them a break!! Yes, alot of the harbor is very accessable on foot!

I seem to remember that you were committed for Sunday per you better half when I dropped you off on Friday night!

I believe you would be welcome to come out and play with the team but you have to be willing to get more than youe feet wet!!!! Sometimes you will feel like you were on the :Titanic:
