Went to Jess Ranch today after dropping the kids off at school. Got there at 7:05, fished until 10:30. All kinds of hits on drop shot Berkley trout worms. After missing about 12 I hooked into the first and biggest of the day. About 2.5 pounds. People on either side were hooking up on P/B one after the other but I'd rather try to get them on lures. Second fish came about an hour later also on trout worms. About this time the guy to the left of me is going to get him and his wife another permit for another limit each and the guy to the right is talking to his son about the same thing. So I fold and set one rod out with night crawlers. Instant bite on the N/C, third fish. The drop shot isn't working to good any more so I switched up to Thomas Bouyant in gold w/ red spots. No luck. Fly and bubble. No luck. Gold Kastmaster, instant bite. 6 casts later, limit done. As I'm leaving my buddy calls me to see if I want to check out the open house at the trade school where he teaches. He is an instructor for a NHRA mechanics class. Top fuel drivers, race cars, testosterone fueled open house!!!! So I'm on the phone real quick to check whats on for tomorrow with the wife and kids. She says nothing as long as I take her out on a date tonight. Too Cool. So I got my limit and home by 11:00 am. I got a cool date with the woman I love(probably gonna you know) and top fuel dragsters tomorrow. I am having a great day!!!!! One more thing: The staff and facilities at Jess Ranch are great. Every time I fish there it's a great experience.
