Took a trip up to Big Bear to check on our cabin-house before winter
and decided to do a few hours of fishing before coming back home.
We started at 6am on the North Shore just west of Windy point,
working our way around the lake to the dam for no bites at sev-
eral stops. By the time we got to the dam it was around 12pm
and it started to smell of skunk. After crossing the dam and head-
ing back towards town, we stopped at the first easily accessable
spot to try our luck again. This spot paid off.....
Also, I'm not one to be able to sit there doing the bait n wait thing.
I tried everything in the tacklebox.... Rapala cd's, TB's, spinners,
km's, d/s LipRippers and troutworms etc.... in all different colors for
nothing until I finally gave in to the powerbait
2 fish caught, 1 big fish broke off and several misses in 2 hours at
our last stop.

12" 4lb leader, size 18 treble, 1/8th oz egg sinker and Rainbow
PowerBait did the trick. Tried other colors of PB too, for nada.

Here's a Coyote that stopped for a picture...

We also got to see 4 Chipmunks, each no bigger than a C size battery
skitter across the road in front of us... cute lil' things!
Random pics of the lake....

Fishing was just an option on this trip and in the end, it made the trip
worth it even more. We had a blast!!
