View Full Version : Final Night of summer nightfishing

Well tonight marked the end of the summer catfish season and what a season it was. This weekend saw the big fish go on the chew. Once again a few familiar faces made their way to the scales with some truly good fish.
Taking top fish this week was Dave "Tiny" Pierson of Garden Grove with his 22.0 Blue taken from the Flats with a chunk of Mackral.

Next up was Frd Ambergy of Costa Mesa with his 21.4 Blue Catfish taken from the Flats as well.

Last but not least was Phil Hildenbrandt of Anaheim with his 15.12 Cat taken from the Flats as well. Phil was fishing a chuck of Bonita when the big boy struck.

I would like to thank the above mentioned people for releasing all of their big cats this year as well.

awesome, congrats on those cats-! All we got were 2 gooood runs in the deep, until we froze our toes off. still on the chew-way to end the night season- on a few big runs

The best night fishing at irvine is in November. It can be sick dude. Tell Tiny the brown trout fishing is sick right now. And the shallow water lake trout bite took off yesterday ! No lines, no crowds

Tiny is starting to look like an old man now. LOL

Great job fellas sorry I could not get out this OCT I came down with pnuemonia in one lung and a 3 week cold and it was nothing nice right after the King of cats event.

To what Muskyman said yeah Years ago November was good when they had night fishing during that month . Heck big blue cats is a late fall and cooler water fish anyways so that points to a lot of the reason. : )
