What freshwater lakes or rivers are producing in the LA and San Bernardino area

I will be stopping in the area in a month and would like to know what is a good place to fish and what lure, bait, flies, and etc will be effective. Also what locations. I will be targeting trout. I will be staying at a relatives house which is located in Torrance. However I do not mind traveling to the San Diego or San Bernardino area

I got skunked at Lake Gregory this last weekend.

But it is a nice area and the trout bite may be better by then. Only shore fishing though, no boats. You should be able to get there in <2hrs from Torrance if you avoid high traffic times. Wish I could help you with what gear to use, but obviously I'm not the one to ask

id say jess ranch, its in the high desert..apple valley..$17 and gaurenteed 5 fish pretty much..its a great lake..just use kastmasters and or jigs...powerbait as well..anything works good there
