After Saturday's Castaic Launch Ramp of Hell afternoon, Me and Gary decided to mix up the striper slayage up a bit.:EyePop:

We planned the trip at around 4:30am to catch both of the high tides, one at around 6:00am and the next one at about 3:30pm. It didn't happen,,,lol,,, Me and gary overslept hahahahaha. We launched my new 13' Skiff at around 9:00am or so and got to the infamous bird/seal s*** jetty.

Gary started off as the 30 casts or less Legal hunt. We first started off just going for the flatties. At around the 4th he got a sandbass and a few others after.

I then hooked into a few bass as well (n000b of the day,,lol,,).

Then we saw Bob, Cutbait, Trailblazer, and Kewly having some fun!:ROFL::ROFL:

After we were fishing next to some Small kelp patties and double BENDOOOOOO on Gary's 7'6" Crucial! Damn it was a huge (Bull Calico?) and his reel was just peeling line then the fish went into the rocks and Snap! WTF?

I think Gary was really Monstered up!!! (Lovin' the hat brotha!)

Then he landed another halibut just short of about 1-2in. but released carefully.

2nd shot!

Then double over BENDO. It was HUGE and it was peelin' drag like no other. But as fate has it, Snap. We suspected it was his line frayed from the other fished he missed. But Damn! it was approx. a 20lb.+ Halibut or a huge Sandbass, but fight was real dorsal. Again another fish kicked his a.$.$.

WTF???lol
A lizard fish on Gulp! ??

After we went looking for some Calicos and other bass. We moved on to another spot and Gary and I hooked into a few other bass. A calico!

Then a Sculpin!!!

A WSB Woohoo! lol
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii127/thebassmaster818/Photo_102509_011.jpg

We got tired of fishing the jetty and decided to move on and troll home. Then Gary hooked into something with his LC Chartreuse Shad lure.

A lizard fish WTF?

:

Thanks 4 putting the report up Geordy, that was fun.

I will add that I susspect my line was frayed not from "other fish" it was frayed from fishing tight up to the jetty line 10 minutes b4 where I hooked into that bull bass that kicked my #@S....
That sucka sawed me off in the rocks on my other rig but I switched to my casting unit with 15lb and subsequently snagged up a few times as what normally happens....

We went and targeted the deeper area w/o rocks (33' to 38' sandy sloping shoal !) and like an idiot, I didnt check my line from fishing the jettyline.....
The frays did me in...

MAN THAT SUCKA WAS A PIG FROM HELL.....!

Just a fish story now but that flattie still has my 1/4 oz steel and gulp attached to him as a momento of the sweet time we spent together : )

And I at least got to enjoy that battle for a while !

anyway....good times

Oh yeah.....what about when we were driving in....

I look at Geordy and he screamed out : "Ohhhhhhh...Uhhhhhhhhh..uhhh!"

I was laughing at the top of my lungs but it turned out that a bee flew into the neck of his shirt and stung him on the neck...

Dr Gary promptly removed the stinger (only after I landed my Barracuda !) and lil Geordy was good to go !

(I'll send you an invoice for my services).

Not off the hook bite, had ta work for them but got some acton, I only landed 2 halibut and lost that 1 pig but caught many fish for a fun day..

I'll back soon.

NOTE:
I did not find the halibut lairing in their usual depth patterns out there (13.5 to 16.5 ft.)
I found the flats ranging from 19.3 to 38'

Had to span my search and destroy attack out !

Very interesting pattern for the day
