I went to my little pond this morning in socal. It was 4 in the morning and I was hooking up every few casts with a chatter bait. Once the sun came up they all got lock jaw. I changed to different color chatter baits, spinner baits, small swim baits, zoom centepead (carolina) senko (wacky) and nothing. Not a bite. I saw a few fish follow the swim bait but would not hit it. The water is very clear and there is a lot of weeds and grass in the pond. The deepest point is between is about 15 ft deep.
This is a pattern I am seeing every week when I go there. The bite is wide open for a couple hours very early and then it completely stops with the sun. What can I do? I need some expert advise!
