I'll be fishing the lake Weds. morn with a couple of friends, primarily for LM Bass, but I thought I'd bring an ultralight rod and see if I can find any of those big Florida Bluegills that are in DVL. Has anyone had any luck with these panfish lately, and if so where?

The one time I took a boat at Diamond Valley, a few years ago, I caught some large Bluegills by hanging out by the restroom in Rawson Cove and fishing about 20 feet down beneath the restroom area. We also witnessed a young lady catch a really big one next to us by fishing on the bottom, which was about 100 feet deep. Other places we tried were not so productive, but we didn't really try the dams, which are supposed to have large Bluegills. I hope this helps.

AND bass! Jeff: We're gunna hit those gillies for you off that east dam like he said. There are three or four sets of "stairs" that come off that dam and they hold an orgy of gillie and largies!

Had a great time fishing with you and Ryan the other day Jeff. Glad you hooked that Gill before we left. Looking forward to doing it again in the future. And don't forget about getting that tube of yours out with me and Ryan and hitting that place we talked about. By the way, do you have the pic of the LMB I caught out there? You could just email it to me if you don't mind. Thanks Jeff. Peace.

NICE! Looks like a "Northern" Bluegill, not a Florida. Get a weight or length?

Yeah really! It looked almost black when I first saw him. Had a purple/lavender head, which I've seen before but not quite so bright. I've caught some really pretty (and different) Bluegills this year and if you look, you'll find them posted here on FNN. This fish is my 2nd largest BG.
