Decided to hit up huntington this morning to fish the outgoing tide. Went solo this time without my usual fishing partner, Tesserz. I was quick to abandon the swimmie for the DS on my past few outings, so this time I was determined to catch a fish on the swimbait.
First fish of the morning right before the top of the tide caught on the big hammer. The swimmie is so much funner than the DS.

I was getting a bunch of short bites on the swimmie up until the current died down. So here I go again. :Rolls Eyes: I pick up the DS setup and this nicer grade spottie slams my gulp.

I had a frustrating time dealing with the strong outgoing tide. Couldn't get the inflatable anchored and floated around aimlessly. All I could do was cast my swimmie up current and let it roll over to where I thought the fish might be holding. I was able to score a couple doing this.

At this point the water is really rippin, so I get the heck out of there and tie up to the buoys to hold my position. I could no longer keep my big hammer on the bottom so I decide to tie on a heavier Pearl swimmie for the first time and score another spottie. I really like the larger profile and wobble of this lure.

I finish up the day with a pancake on the DS flashtrix.

It was nice to catch more spotties this time around. I felt I could've landed more fish, if I was able to anchor properly. Plenty of bites, during all the water movement, but I was gliding over them way too fast. Lesson learned. I guess it's time to get a heavier anchor. Til next time.
Total Fish Count
2 Short Halis
4 Spotties
1 Farmed mystery fish
