The Taft Trout Derby is schedule for Nov. 14 anyone going? What is it like? Where can I get more info?

JMO,,,The derby is usually a zoo,,,,,,,elbo to elbo,,,,,,the lake usually opens 1 week prior to the derby to trout fishing,,,,,so usually the derby is just after the 2nd planting,,,,,,,,,,if your going get there EARRRRLLLYYYY or you will be 100 cars back in the line waiting to get in.
Last year most of the larger models were planted later in the season around december.
All this being said ,,,there will still be lots of trout and prizes to be had at the derby AND its a great place to take the family <GRASS,BATHROOMS,PLAYGROUNDS and ETC.

Like TB said, its a zoo out there, last year they dumped a bunch of the breeding stock into that lake, since they were not planting in a bunch of the rivers and streams around here, 16-20 pounders were getting pulled out of there quite often. Good luck if you go.
