So a friend of ours is having a BBQ this weekend so we thought we'd show up with some bugs for the grille. Still trying to get over a cold and have a meeting in the early morning we decided to dive on this night. Get in and get out in less than an hour. Met up at my slip at 7pm and loaded up the boat. 3 divers and a skipper. We motor out and made it to my local hang out to find a blue 19 foot Bayliner open bow sitting on it. Cruised over to talk to them and there are 4 Asian guys on the boat. Conversation went like this:

Me - Hi fellas, you guys hooping?
Them - No not yet,
Me - OK cool where you guys going to drop your hoops? We will be diving and don't want to be on top of your stuff.
Them - We don't know how,
Me - Huh?
Them - We don't know how but we want to try,
Me - So you guys hooping?
Them - No not yet,
Me - No seriously where you guys dropping hoops?
Them - We are not hooping yet,
Me - OK guys we're diving so unless you tell me where we are dropping in 100 yards to your right and heading away from you.
Them - Uh we are not hooping yet but would like to learn.
Me - So you're not hooping tonight then?
Them - No

Jesus, this went on for 15 minutes. HAHAHA! SO we went to the right of them and they were anchored anyways. Too damn funny, I wonder if they wanted me to give them a quick pointer? LOL.

So if there are any of you who were out there last night and ran in to a blue Bayliner with 4 Asian guys on it and the boat was anchored, that's my "secret" money spot. That's all ima give ya!

Did a one tank dive, in at 8 ish for a slow pickins. Then it went wide open. They were all over. The crawl started around 8:30 or so. Got most of mine in the mud cruising around. Nothing in the rocks. This is a good sign for hoopers as they are dropped usually where the rocks end and the mud starts (hint, hint). Viz was an easy 15 feet, water temp was 67 and bug depth was 39 to be exact per my computer. Limits for 3 by 9, home with pneumonia by 11...

Have fun and becareful out there y'all!
